Why Should I Choose Rehab in Liverpool?
If you live in Liverpool or are local, choosing rehabs is probably an easy choice. Being closer to home will make it easier for family members to visit you and make it easier for you to attend therapy after your detoxification.
Addiction treatment in Liverpool is also recommended for those living farther afield. Sometimes, attending rehab far away from home is beneficial because it takes the patient away from their normal social environment. Liverpool has good transport links and our private clinics are in excellent locations.
As part of your Liverpool rehab, you can expect:
- A free clinical assessment
- Immediate/Fast admission
- A personalised rehab programme
- A medically-managed detoxification
- Word-class standards of care
- One year of free aftercare with every plan
With the help of our world-class team of doctors, therapists, nurses and support workers, you can get drug free and stay drug free. Liverpool is home to some of the best rehab clinics and is a great choice for drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
Inpatient & Outpatient Rehab Programmes in Liverpool
There are two main types of rehab – inpatient rehab and outpatient rehab, and which is best for you depends on your individual circumstances.
The highest standard of support is provided to inpatients. Inpatients stay in clinic accommodation for the duration of their detox and receive a medically-managed detox with access to BACP accredited nurses.
Outpatients undergo a detox at home and are asked to check in with their clinic every day. A nurse will also visit the patient’s home twice a week to monitor the patient’s progress.
As you would probably guess, the best type of rehab is inpatient rehab because the standard of support is far greater. This also makes inpatient rehab the most successful type of rehab. We always recommend inpatient rehab no matter a patient’s circumstances for this reason. However, we understand not everyone is in the financial position to afford this type of rehab, which is when outpatient rehab can be helpful.

How Does Rehab Work?
Rehab begins with choosing a clinic to provide your care. You will then undergo a full clinical assessment with a doctor and a therapist, and the results of this assessment will be used to create a personalised rehab programme.
When you are admitted into the care of your chosen clinic, you will be prescribed withdrawal medication and undergo a detox. The detox stage is the most difficult stage of rehab. For most people, the prospect of a detox is a daunting one, but rest assured you will receive the medical care you need to get through it. The detox stage typically lasts two to four weeks.
When all traces of the substances you are addicted to have left your body, and you have received the therapy you need, you will be discharged from rehab, but will stay on withdrawal medication for a few months.
Throughout your detox and afterwards, you will attend therapy sessions. The most common therapies when treating addiction are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). These therapies are proven to help change behaviour and attitude towards alcohol and drugs to help people stay clean.
As part of your rehab programme in Liverpool, you will:
- Have access to dedicated nurses
- Have access to a GP
- Go through a medically-managed detox
- Be prescribed withdrawal medications
- Undergo therapy, such as CBT or DBT
- Have access to a personal trainer and holistic therapies (optional)
