Why Choose Rehab in Berkshire?
Berkshire is one of England’s home counties and since 1957 it has been recognised as the Royal County of Berkshire because it’s home to Windsor Castle.
It is a unique county in that it consists almost entirely of countryside. Along the Thames Valley there’s woodland, beautiful meadows and farmland.
If you want to escape your life and recover somewhere tranquil, there’s no better place to be. Our rehab centres in Berkshire are set into private grounds and offer a secure, relaxing break away from the normalities of your life.
Many of our patients look back on their time with us as more like a break than rehab. We take this as a complement. Rehab is hard but it shouldn’t be uncomfortable. We want you to enjoy your time with us and look back on it fondly.
Inpatient and Outpatient Rehab Programmes
You can undergo a recovery programme as an inpatient or outpatient. Which is best for you depends on your financial situation and the severity of your addiction.
Inpatient rehab
Inpatient rehab is when you stay in clinic accommodation and undergo your detox in the safety of our clinic. Your recovery will be closely supervised by our experts and you will take part in an intensive recovery programme.
Outpatient rehab
Outpatient rehab is when you stay at home and undergo a home detox. You will check in with your clinic every few days and receive weekly nurse visits, but you will need a loved one to care for you at home.
Which is best for me?
If you are at a medium to high risk of relapse during a detox, then inpatient drug rehabilitation in Berkshire will be best for you.
If you are at a low risk of relapse, or you need a prescription drug detox, then outpatient rehab may be a suitable option.
If you want a definitive answer, please call us on 0800 118 2892 and one of our helpful people will discuss this with you.

What Does Rehab Involve?
Overcoming addiction and staying substance free is a marathon, not a sprint. However, the lessons you learn in rehab will form the foundation of your recovery.
Rehab is undoubtedly the most important aspect of overcoming addiction. It will not only get you clean, but also help to resolve the habits and triggers that cause you to use. In doing so, it will help you achieve long-term abstinence.
Rehab admission
Admission into our Berkshire rehab clinics can be immediate or planned. If you require immediate intervention, we can arrange transport. Otherwise, you will enter rehab on a set day. Which is best for you depends on your circumstances.
Clinical assessment
So a personalised recovery programme can be made, you will attend a clinical assessment to assess your physical and mental health. Your clinical assessment will take place either at the clinic or a private hospital (whichever is most convenient).
Detox stage
The detox stage of rehab is the most difficult. During your detox, you will abstain from the substances you are addicted to.
The process is extremely uncomfortable; however, your withdrawal symptoms will be managed with medication and we will be there to support you.
Your detox will last anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. It depends on the extent and type of your addiction.
Therapy
Therapy will be introduced during your detox so the psychological side of your addiction can be treated with the physical side.
The two most common therapies are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). These are behavioural therapies that can help you deal with your habits, triggers and anxieties.
This is also a good opportunity to get help for any associated mental health problems like anxiety, depression, PTSD and OCD. Your Berkshire rehab clinic will recommend therapies to improve your mental health and wellbeing.
Continued abstinence
After you graduate from our care your withdrawal symptoms will be under control and you will be in a better place mentally than when you arrived.
However, your journey isn’t over. Temptation will always be with you and the urge to use will be at the back of your mind. To help you overcome these urges and stay clean, we will arrange additional therapy and set you up with a peer mentor.
